By application. Insulation holds the largest revenue share because calcium silicate is specified across pipe insulation, boiler lagging, furnace linings, and building envelope systems. Fireproofing is the fastest-growing application, driven by cladding, penetration seal, and structural steel protection requirements. Other meaningful applications include cement additives, plastering, soundproofing, sealants, paints and coatings, and ceramic bodies.
By form. Powder accounted for the largest share at roughly 40% in 2025, reflecting its dual role as fabrication feedstock and direct additive. Board and sheet formats are gaining share as prefabricated and modular construction methods spread.
By type. High-temperature grades dominated at approximately 45% of 2025 revenue, a function of superior thermal stability in energy-intensive industrial settings. Hydrophobic grades are the fastest-growing type, addressing the moisture-ingress problem that has historically limited calcium silicate adoption in humid climates and below-grade applications. Reinforced, non-reinforced, and hydrophilic variants round out the portfolio.
By end use. Construction is the anchor sector. Aerospace is the fastest-growing, with nano-grade calcium silicate now specified for thermal barriers that must retain structural integrity above 1,100°C. Automotive, marine, oil and gas, and metallurgy contribute steady incremental volumes.
